Family Life Skills Center and Job Training Site or possibly used as a warehouse. Nortown is also open to forming a partnership to attract the best type of development to this site, given the historic landmark of the 1873 Norris house across the street. Nortown does have a development plan for restoration of the one block long remaining structures of the Village but only has site control of the Norris House and two adjoining vacant lots to the north. Three (3) homes and two (2) commercial buildings comprise the rest of the block. Some of those structures are up for auction. Nortown would like to purchase and redevelop those structures to restore the 1873 Village as a tourist attraction in District 3 of northeast Detroit. |
