USDA Announces Funding to Improve Rural Electric Infrastructure
The Rural Development Deputy Under Secretary has announced that the USDA is making loans to electric cooperatives that will help continue to deliver safe, reliable and affordable electricity to rural residents, business and institutions in nine states.
Latest Round of OH State Tax Credits to Create $35M in Payroll
10 projects were approved this round and are expected to create 726 new jobs and retain 1,216 jobs statewide. Collectively, the projects are expected to result in more than $35 million in new payroll, and spur more than $66 million in investments across Ohio.
OH Has a Variety of Small Business Resources
David Goodman, director of the Ohio Development Services Agency, says the state has a panoply of programs helping small businesses that don't get the same publicity as a tax credit for a huge corporation adding 1,000 jobs.

Governor Kasich took a stand for economic development and clean energy. He concluded 2016 with a veto of a bill that would have effectively frozen new clean energy development in Ohio, thus affirming the integration of clean energy and efficiency standards into our energy future as a crucial economic initiative.

The Strong Families Fund (SFF) announced that it is providing equity financing for two affordable housing developments—the renovation of Abbey Church Village in Dublin, Ohio, and Hillside View Apartments in Schenectady, N.Y.
States See Value in Backing 'Food Hubs' for Farmers, Consumers
The growth in locally sourced food, a market that totaled $12 billion in sales in 2014 and could reach $20 billion by 2019, coincides with rising consumer demand for healthier fresh food that is often grown organically and with environmentally friendly practices and food hubs are capitalizing on this market.
