Glendale, AZ Public Works Proposes $77M in Road Repairs
The Glendale City Council has agreed to a $77.5 million road repair project. $26.5 million would come from city issued, general-obligation bonds, $35 million from the Highway User Revenue Fund, $10M from the Glendale Onboard program, and $6 million from the annual budget.
Benson, AZ to Aid Creation of Planned Community
The Benson City Council has approved an agreement with El Dorado Holdings to assist in the development of a planned community. The city may finance the construction of street and water infrastructure through improvement districts and the sale of tax-exempt bonds.
FINRA Probes Muni-Bond Sale in Phoenix
FINRA has accused a Phoenix investment company of securities fraud in connection with municipal bond sales to finance an Arizona charter school. The charter-school bonds were sold in a $10.5 million offering that Lawson Financial underwrote in October 2014.
Phoenix Canalscape Redevelopment Moves Forward
Phoenix's Grand Canalscape plan, which will create a 12-mile trail system along the Grand Canal, will begin phase one of construction Spring 2017. The project will be funded through a $10 million federal grant, $5 million from city funds, and an additional $7 million from various sources.
RTA OKs $160M for Tuscon, AZ Road Projects
The Regional Transportation Authority has approved a $160 million budget to finish and begin new Tuscon-area road projects. The funds will be drawn from a pool of money from 2011 and 2014 bond issuances.

Rio Nuevo Buys Tucson's Stake in Project for $1.2M
For $1.2 million, Rio Nuevo is buying out the city's stake in a 2008 development agreement with The Gadsden Company. Rio Nuevo, a special taxing district, will serve as a catalyst for numerous other Gadsden Company projects.
