Trenton Receives $3.2M State Loan to Buy Contaminated Steel Site
The City of Trenton has been approved for a $3.2 million loan from the Michigan Strategic Fund to purchase the former McLouth Steel site. $2.5 million will be used to purchase the property, $700,000 will be reserved for environmental investigations.
Tecumseh, MI Receives $2M from the State to Cleanup Site
The city will receive $2 million — $1 million in a grant and $1 million in a loan — to help the developer of Revival Commons cleanup the ground under the former Tecumseh Products factory.
MI House Adjourns Without Approving Job Incentives
The bills would authorize Michigan to let qualified companies adding jobs keep half or all of the income tax withholdings of the new employees for up to five or 10 years. The businesses would have to create at least 500 jobs that pay the regional average wage or, if they pay at least a quarter more than the regional average, at least 250 jobs.
