Texas Micro Lender to Take on Small-Business Loans up to $1M for First Time
LiftFund Inc. will offer up to $1 million in small business financing when matched by MetaFund Inc., an Oklahoma-based private equity firm.
Roofing Manufacturer to Move to Waco, Could Invest $20M
The Waco City Council approved a reinvestment zone for Polyglass, a Florida-based roffing manufacturer, that would allow a seven-year partial tax abatement worth $221,558.
Bryan, TX City Council Supports New Zone to Inject Funds into District
As reported by The Eagle, most of the Bryan City Council members indicated their support for a new tax increment reinvestment zone that would be the first TIRZ to be used for redevelopment of an established area.
Deal Nearly Sealed for $9M Central Texas Solar Farm Project
Falls County, TX officials have nearly finalized a deal for a $9 million solar farm project. Commissioners approved a 6 year tax abatement for the project, which will help facilitate the sale of the 55 acre property to Cypress Creek Renewables.
Tax Increment to Help Pay for $10M City Project
City officials from Harlingen, TX have amended the city's three tax increment finance zones in an effort to finance the development of a 43,000-square-foot convention center. Through the amendments, property taxes may now be used to help finance the construction.
Plano, TX City Council Approves $4.9M in Incentives for JPMorgan Chase
As reported by the Plano Star Courier, the Plano City Council has approved a tax abatement and grant package to recruit JPMorgan Chase to the area.
USDA & ARRA Provide $78.5M to South TX to Increase Broadband Access
Through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Broadband Initiative, and a partnership with the USDA, VTX1 brought high-speed broadband to rural Texas. VTX1 used a $40 million loan and a $38.5 million grant to upgrade the technological capacities of communities from the Rio Grande Valley to San Antonio.
